I have a fascination with vertical Windmills, as they appear to have reduced maintenance costs and operate at much lower speeds than is required for conventional horizontal axis Windmills. We could improve output further by reducing friction, by using "Mag-Lev" bearings!
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Compile all current vertical axis data on wind turbines for electrical output vs conventional axis turbines.
- Draft a matrix of commercial viability study based on existing product specifications.
- End product was installed at BCIT.
